Rich Golden Bread

10/52
Before we get into this I once again got this from the Mark Bittman’s How to Cook Everything This recipe is called: Rich Golden Bread (nine ways) (I left it simple since I knew the dish would be the star)

Okay, so I made this bread on Fat Tuesday last week. I’ll tell ya what is happening now. I am the “bread” girl. When I get invited to an event and I ask what I should bring, people ask, “Well, have you made your bread yet?” And you know what? It’s AWESOME! I don’t mind that though I make a bread a week, sometimes two breads a week (by the way, I’m thinking this weekend, gonna give bagels a try), but it isn’t like we are drowning in carbs, because so many people are willing/wanting homemade bread.

So, this was a party bread. I made it specifically for this Fat Tuesday dinner. It was just a simple white bread. I had all of the ingredients in my apartment (the main motivation for this particular bread). The only requirement from the host? She wanted a hearty and moist bread, the dish was a vegetarian rice course with corn, beans, and peppers. So, we wanted something that was moist without any dunking required.

Considering half of it was gone in an instant? Yeah, I think #10 did alright.

About bridgiskor

Hey all, Thanks for stopping by. This blog will be about my little life, with my dog Yoshi. I am trying to chronicle my adult life living in San Antonio Texas as a mid-twenty something. I love running, cooking, going out and exploring (in the city and outdoors), and coffee, so more than likely this blog will have a pretty diverse input. Though most importantly I want to emphasize a healthy (and still fun) lifestyle, dog included! I got Yoshi in September of 2011 and it was love at first site, I'll make sure to write a post about our little bow-wow-mance, until then look around and I hope you enjoy the escapades of riding along with a work-in-progress, meaning my life.

Thank you so much! I am always surprised how much I am loving this resolution challenge! And, I’m glad you are picking up on it. This is one of my favorites, and so easy and fast! You should really try the honey-oat one I did this week. Perfect for sandwiches. But, I would suggest being liberal with the honey, but I am such a fan of the Honey-oat taste, so maybe it’s just me. Let me know how it goes!
