When Texas Has Three Seasons in One Day

Yesterday the weather was, well, it was typical Texas. So, I decided to accept the challenge of the crazy weather. I mean seriously, one hour it was a downpour, then humid, sunny, but also blustery. It was, in short, confusing.
While I do now work from home, and I can easily go a full day with no one seeing me that doesn’t live in the apartment, I still want to dress up, a little. When I was homeschooled my mom had a rule. No pj’s. Even though we did our schooling in the basement (or when we moved we had a school room), school was done there, at our desks, not the couch, and we had to be dressed in “real” clothes. I.e. no sweatpants.
It sucked as a kid. Especially whenever you told people that you were homeschooled and the first thing they say is, “oh man, it must be so cool to do work in your pajamas!” To which we would reply that we really aren’t cool, and we don’t work in our pajamas, our mom wouldn’t allow it.
But, it was a lesson that I have carried throughout my life now. You are more productive when you are a little dressed. A touch of make-up and a nice fitted shirt, yeah, it goes a long way. You never know when you have to rush out of the house.
So, with that, I am a typical t-shirt and jeans girl. I loveeeeee (can it be my Valentine?) t-shirts, especially if it is black, or when I feel crazy, grey or white. And I literally wear jeans everyday. I want to change that, maybe this summer, but it just—works.
With the help of my awesome friend Sarah, we took some photos. I love this outfit for so many reasons. One of the top being that it can be worn on anyone, in any style. Change the accessories a bit and you are ready for anything! Also, the high bun, makes you look special like you fixed your hair, but it is strange damp/rainy/windy weather proof!

Can I also mention how freakishly comfortable those shoes are! I rocked out so much laundry in those bad boys yesterday. Whenever I had to go to the laundry room, well I strutted like I was on a catwalk.

Hey all, Thanks for stopping by. This blog will be about my little life, with my dog Yoshi. I am trying to chronicle my adult life living in San Antonio Texas as a mid-twenty something. I love running, cooking, going out and exploring (in the city and outdoors), and coffee, so more than likely this blog will have a pretty diverse input. Though most importantly I want to emphasize a healthy (and still fun) lifestyle, dog included! I got Yoshi in September of 2011 and it was love at first site, I'll make sure to write a post about our little bow-wow-mance, until then look around and I hope you enjoy the escapades of riding along with a work-in-progress, meaning my life.

I was off work for a while and I agree it is important to get dressed in the morning – makes you feel like less of a bum hanging around the house all day long!
